The charity has called his behaviour irresponsible and an insult to people who have been left with out members of their families because of road traffic accidents.

Clip Was Tweeted To Millions

The footage which shows the footballer bouncing up and down to Craig David’s ‘Can You Fill Me In’ while on his way to a training session, looks as if it were taken using a mobile phone. The 25 year-old sings out at one point: “Go on Craigy let’s have it. On the way to training.” He tweeted the message to his 5.3 million users on his twitter account with the line: ‘Sunshine on the way to training does perk me up £living the dream.’

The disapproval was also concurred by some of Rio’s twitter users who said they didn’t agree it was the right way for a role model to promote road safety.

Brake Says It’s Irresponsible for A Public Figure

Ed morrow is Campaigns Officer at Brake, he said: “It is irresponsible for a public figure and potential role model to be showing such disregard for safe driving, and insulting to the many families who have been bereaved by distracted drivers.” He added that using a phone while driving increases the risk of having an accident dramatically and that reactions are also slowed down.

Mr Morrow continued: “Brake urges drivers to avoid distraction by putting their phones in the boot, and calls on government to increase fines to deter risky multi-tasking at the wheel.”

Claiming Compensation For A Road Accident

If you or a member of your family has been involved in a road accident that was down to the fault of a third party then you could be entitled to make a personal injury claim. The fault of the accident must be clearly established in order to be successful and you must adhere to the strict time limits which apply to personal injury cases; this is usually starting your claim within three years of having your accident.
