A motorcyclist from Sussex has been awarded £22,500 following an accident on the A22 in April 2009.
A sudden U-turn from the driver of a Peugeot 206 in front of caused the crash which saw the Owain Sullivan, a trainee mechanic being thrown through the air.
The driver who had made the unexpected move into the busy road had not seen the biker and the two collided at high impact. Shortly after Mr Sullivan was airlifted to East Surrey Hospital and paramedics feared the worse.
Luckily Mr Sullivan escaped the worst fears of the paramedics who thought he had suffered life threatening injuries.
Mr Sullivan had injuries to his groin, spine and neck as a well as cuts and bruises but says that the psychological damage has had the most severe impact on his health. He says he has been left traumatised with recurring flashbacks of the event and also added that he was unable to enjoy riding his bike for a long period of time afterwards.
Mr Sullivan said that he hoped the incident would be a lesson to all about remembering everyone using the road.
