The Ministry of Justice has announced the imminent introduction of whiplash injury panels to assess the claims in more detail.
It is believed that initial work creating the panels will begin next month and they are likely to comprise of different industry experts including figures from the British Medical Association, lawyers and insurance representatives.
Whiplash Panels Could Be In Operation By September
Last Monday, a meeting chaired by the MoJ was held to discuss the details of the whiplash injury panels with the hope of having something finalised by July and panels up and running by Autumn this year. It has been reported that under the new rules there will be a prerequisite for having medical certification from an accredited medical examiner and there will be an industry standard form used.
Justice Chris Grayling said that he wants insurers to provide as much information as possible for these kind of claims including medical evidence.
The news has been welcomed by personal injury lawyers who believe that victims of road accidents will have their case judged fairly under the new rules.
Have You Suffered A Whiplash Injury?
If you have been involved in any kind of accident that caused you a whiplash injury and there was third party fault, then in many cases, you could have a valid whiplash injury claim.
Most whiplash injuries are caused by road traffic accidents that have involved passengers or drivers receiving a sudden jolt to the head and/or neck during a collision. The ensuing injuries can be minor and in some cases, debilitating. A whiplash injury claim will consider the level of pain and suffering you have experienced and any financial loss (e.g. loss of earnings through having to stop working) and/or financial expenses (e.g. medical or travel expenses) you have had to pay for in relation to your injury.
