String Of Motorbike Accidents On Same Road In Scarborough

A motorbike accident in Scarborough is the fourth in a number of incidents involving bikers on the same stretch of road.

The latest accident involved two motorbikes and a car. Both bikes were on fire by the time the emergency services, including the North Yorkshire Fire Service, arrived at the scene. All parties were taken to Scarborough Hospital.

Both the motorbike riders; a 49 and 48 year old from Hartlepool and Middlesborough, respectfully, are reported to have sustained non-life threatening injuries but damaged ribs and some burns were reported.

The driver of the car, a Citroen Saxo was a 29 year old from Middlesborough who is not believed to have been injured. The accident is now being investigated.

Spate Of Motorcycle Accidents On Road

The A171 is the location where an accident happened a few weeks ago and it is the third in four months that has involved a motorbike.

A previous accident was a fatal motorbike collision two months ago. The motorcyclist who died was in his late thirties and was from Scarborough. A similar incident in May saw a 47 year old man from Stockton killed when his bike collided into a car.
