The father of two who worked as a teacher throughout the north east region, died in April this year after he was involved in an accident with a four wheel drive car.

The 51 year old driver of the car was present at Durham Crown Court yesterday and is accused of causing death by dangerous driving.

His defence says that it is not disputing the facts of the case but whether the reason for the fatal accident is down to careless or dangerous driving demonstrated by the client.

A trial date has now been set for February next year and there will be a plea hearing this December.

Claiming Compensation For A Motorcycle Accident

If you have been involved in a motorcycle accident then it is not unusual to be suffering from life-changing injuries. Fatal motorbike accidents are also not uncommon on British roads. If a family member has died in a motorbike accident then it is possible to claim personal injury compensation and it is advisable that you speak to a personal injury lawyer to advise you in more detail.

Life changing injuries can include partial or complete paralysis and the reliance on medical support in order to live your life as comfortably as possible. Head and spinal injuries are also common kinds of motorbike accident injuries; these too can leave you unable to function in terms of being able to look after yourself or work.

Compensation is designed to help put you back in the position you were in before you suffered in an accident that was not your fault. Settlement figures take into account the level of suffering you have experienced, whether you have suffered a loss of earnings and/or the cost of you present and future care in relation to your injuries.

There are three years in which you can begin a personal injury compensation case so it is recommended that you speak to a qualified personal injury lawyer as soon as you can.
