Weekend Road Accidents Reach A High In Gloucester

Last weekend saw a surge in road traffic accidents in the Gloucester area with 3 people being killed and 5 suffering from multiple injuries.

Police, ambulances and fire fighters were all called to a head on collision in Cheltenham where one of the drivers suffered serious head injuries and died later at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The rest of the four victims of this accident all received treatment at the hospital and police are still appealing for witnesses.

A further incident this weekend was a fatal motorcycle accident which killed a 52 year old man in Cirencester after he collided with a deer on the road.

In another car accident on Sunday morning, a teenage pedestrian was killed outside a Wetherspoons pub. A policeman at the scene attempted to resuscitate the woman but her injuries were so severe that she died later in hospital.

There were more road traffic accidents in the area involving another teenager who was seriously injured when a vehicle collided with a lamp post.
